Aliens in a hostile world

As God's children, we are aliens and strangers in a condemned world. We are called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, serve and love others in this world, but we are also called to distinction from this world. Much like missionaries called to serve in areas far from home, our calling from our Lord and Savior on our lives brings special meaning to the words, "We aren't home yet!"

As an alien in a foreign land, it is important that we do not forget who we are in Christ, and our responsibilities unto Him. We are exposed to the societal and cultural customs and norms, that can come into direct opposition of what the Lord expects of us as His people. This can land each of us in the valley of decision. We must be in a place in our relationship with Jesus through which we have the trust and faith to make decisions that glorify Him and not man, despite the consequences!
